Click on the 2012 Umpire Registration tag below and it will take you to the 2012 Umpire Registration page.
Please read the info below and understand our changes for 2012
2012 Registration with COYBL and also having a 2012 License with OHSAA will be required to do COYBL Games.
There is no cost to register with COYBL on this site.
The purpose of this registration is to give COYBL officers contact info to contact umpires in case of an issue that may arise on the field of play. It will also give our member teams your info so they may schedule you to do their games.
This registration also allows us to make sure you are a OHSAA trained umpire, you have been updated on the rules of the game and also are insured to do the games on the field. In the past we have had some serious issues arise with umpires that are not OHSAA licensed and thus do not know the updated rules nor are they insured. We can no longer allow these umpires to do COYBL games. It puts the players and teams at risk as well as COYBL.
CONTRARY TO RUMORS, COYBL DOES NOT MAKE ANY MONEY ON THIS REGISTRATION OF THE HATS WE ASK YOU TO WEAR. IT ACTUALLY COST COYBL TO SETUP THE REGISTRATION PROCESS ON THE WEB SITE.
COYBL Umpires will also be required to wear COYBL Umpire hats starting in 2012 when doing COYBL Games. We have no intention of mandating the wearing of special shirts or any other items, but hats are a minimal cost and will help identify umpires that are registered with COYBL.
The COYBL umpire hats can be purchased from any sporting goods supplier of your choice
Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately and you are aware of the reguirements of being a COYBL Umpire.
We will also use this info to investigate and resolve any issues with Umpires and Coaches.
We are making these changes to help our member teams. Please keep in mind that COYBL teams are your customers and doing business is a two way street.
COYBL Coaches are going to be reminded that they need to treat you with respect and we also need you to respect our coaches.
Lets all keep in mind that young, impressionable minds are watching us all.
Sincerely,
Doug Hare
